Mobster world is basically Mafia Wars but for twitter instead of facebook.

There are a few small changes here and there, for example in mafia wars you buy property and keep it earning money at certain time limit. in mobster world you buy property, earn money and lose that property at a certian time limit.

But if you are addict to mafiawars you'll love this game.

on the negative not this game seems to spam your follow list so stay away unless you want to piss of your friends

I can't beleive I haven't already reviewed this game since it had so much buzz.

Plants vs Zombies is a simple game you are trying to stop zombies with your weapon of plants.

oh no you are dead you say well maybe but these aren't your run of the mill plant life these planes can do things like shot and and explode.

You have to stratagy (or at least a little) since you place different types of plant on the yard to stop the zombies from reaching your home.

It's a bit like ant buster but not as hard.

Grow Valley is the latest game in the grow series.

In this game you are trying to turn a valley into a city with the use of different engineering colleges.

You have to figure the best order to use these schools to maximize growth across the board.

Fun game I played it a views trying to find the best order to do things, I've yet to get every area at level 7. I say check this game out it's fun, challenging but easy to play.

Frontierville is the latest facebook game from Zynga games.

In this game you are a frontiersman or frontierwoman and most make a home for yourself in the wild earlier American landscape. In the game you need to clear away land so you have enough room to build a cabin, grow your groups and raise your animals. Though note you don't want to clear everything because you need trees to cut down to give you wood.

In a lot of ways this game is similar to farmville you grow crops, tend live stock and pick trees, buy need products, etc the big differences is nature in farmville you just have to deal with the stuff you put up but in frontierville you have things like plant life always growing and expanding and you will have to get ride of it when they come in areas you wan clear. Also every so often you will run across wild animals (like foxes, snakes and bears) that you need to beat way.

another difference in the game is that you only have so much energy to do something thought that energy usually refuels it self in a few hours.

I've been playing for a few weeks and like the game. I have noticed a bug though, sometimes you character doesn't load (you just have a person shaped blank space) and you can't get into menus (such as the marketplace or your inventory) from what I've seen zynga says to use the chrome browser but I found no need all you have to do is refresh your browser and that problem is usually fixed.

hopefully zynga fixes that problem soon.

Better BBq Challenge

Summer is now officially here and you know what that means? That's right Bar-B-Que season.

In the game better BBQ challenge you are working on the grill flipping stake, mushrooms, squid and other goodies and you are trying to make sure they are cooked spot on. To help you there is a bar on top of each food item on the grill.

this game is really an ad for liptons ice teas so while yo are grilling you have to click on a bottle of ice tea every so often to stay cool (or it's game over)

For an ad game this wasn't bad. It's a simple game but does offer a little bit of challenge in the fact that you have to watch a bunch of bars going and click at the right time

Oil Spill Cleaner

in this topical game you play a someone that is trying to help int he clean up of the BP oil spill in the gulf.

You control a clean up boat and must either suck up the oil with a vacuum or burn it with fireballs.

depending on the amount of oil you get (and some other factors) you earn points. at the end of each 8 hour shift (don't worry it's only eight minutes) you can use your points to upgrade your boat or to pay for wildlife clean up.

This game is hard even on easy. odds are you wont be able to prevent the oil from reaching the shore.

I would assume that is the lesson the developers of the game want us to learn. This oil spill is bad and isn't going to be easy to clean up. If we can fully do that in the first place.

I found this game to be fun. I thought this was something I would have been bored with quickly but I noticed that I kept planning until the end. In fact I was surprised when I reach the end because I could have played some more.

wow what this heck is this game???

you play sperm flying around trying to reach it's destination. You must avoid a number of enemies and objects in you way.

crazy ideal for a game. to make it odder the sperm looks like a woman (or at least how female cartoon characters of different species and objects tend to look...ie they have eye lashes and wear lipstick)

I found this game to be fun, though challenging.

and of course odd.

Though I guess it's a way to teach kids about sex...or at least completely confuse them on the mater

Full Metal Alchemist Flameout

Full Metal Alchemist Flameout is a game based on the Anime Full Metal Alchemist. In the game you play Roy who is standing in the middle of an Alchemist circle. Thought it looks like the circle isn't offering Roy much protection because a heard of monsters (Chimeras)are coming at you.

in this game all you do is stand in one spot (will turn around in one spot) and shot your enemies before they can reach you with a magic blast (I guess the reason Roy's in the circle is to get the power to do that...might have been smarter to just make a force field)

The game is really simple and even though I found it a bit fun, it's play value is really short. A few minutes if that.

Shredding Goofy

Did you know Goofy was a snow boarder. nether did I but in the Shredding Goofy game you play Goof as he hit the half pike.

it's game aimed at younger kids and there really isn't much there. at the bottom left corner are 3 buttons (a,b,c) hit them and goofy does a trick. hit more then one and goofy does a combo.

Funny thing is when I read the direction to this I thought they wanted me to hit the a, b and c buttons on my keyboard which giving there spacing seemed odd if the wanted people to be able to do the combos. But hitting the buttons with my mouse is even odder.

Since the game is aimed at little kids I doubt they would care much and just happily hit the buttons and watch Goofy flip and spin around in the air.

Toy Story Bowl O Rama

In case you didn't guess this is a bowling game using the characters from Toy Story.

In this game you can pick a Toy Story Character you would like to bowl as and then try to knock those little alien things down as they act as pins (a bit mean don't you think)

This game is actually a bit more fun then I thought it would be. You play with just your mouse click on the setting you want and then click bowl to let the ball go. Hopefully you get a strike.

The down sound of this game for me was the music. Which I didn't enjoy and found it much better when I turned my speakers off.

Other then that this is a fun game for both kids and adults alike.

Today is the 20h anniversary of the the Hubble Telescope. The Hubble has giving us many great pictures of space and in honor of it I would like to share this "game"...the Hubble Telescope game

in this game you are trying to find hidden pictures taken of Hubble.

Truth betold this isn't a really fun game (made worst that the game screen is a little to big for my browser which is a problem when you are looking for a picture at the top of the screen but the bar that pops up to tell you if you are close to something is at the bottom)

but there are some nice pictures in it.

Bitmap Turret Defense Plus is a strategy game where you have to stop armies of monsters from making it to the other side of a long winding road.

You do this by placing different weapons along the road that will attack the monsters when they are in range. Each weapon has a different skill and strength.

The weapons are
Cannons (double barrel shoots, decent weapon with a decent time rate)

Earth (a big sling shot that fires clumps of death for some reason this it can't be aimed up to hit flying monsters)

Air, a weapon made only for attacking flying monsters

Water, getting monsters wet seems to slow them down.

Lazers, more powerful then the cannon but a bit slower

Plasma blows up monsters but the plasma blast fly in the air slowly.

Arc, can hit 3 monsters (or 4 when maxed) at once

Gattling, big powerful gun.

each weapon cost more and more put you earn money for killing monsters.

You can only allow 50 monsters to past by or its game over. I guess that the number of people you are trying to protect in your village or something.

The game is similar to ant buster that I reviewed a while ago.

I like this game and if you are like me you may find your self playing it for a very long time.

Thought once you get a good number and mix of weapons the game is pretty much runs it self for a while. ie the monsters are stopped before they get half way. Don't worry there are a lot of levels and each one brings a greater number of monsters to keep you on your toes. Though by level 35 I decided to end the game.

Now here my strategy tips for the game (avoid reading if you want to figure out yourself and just play the game

Ok at first focus on laying cannons along the path. It's also good ideal to put water at the start of the road to slow monster down.

When you can pay for Gattlings I would put them up as well. Another good weapon choice is the arc.

Happy April Fools day for today I thought I would review a game where you play a fool.

In King Jester you play a jester name chuck who created chess (but was screwed out of the rights to the game)

in this game you are trying to cover a certain percentage of the board by turning it green. But the challenge is that there are brown horse also moving on the board that will turn those spaces back to brown.

This game is actually a lot like Pac-man I know it doesn't sound like it but the board is a maze similar to the ones you see in pac-man games and there are crowns that you pick up that turn the horses white and while they are that color you can attack them where as before they turn white if they touch you you lose a life.

It think the game harder then pac-man giving that you will have to go over ground again because of the brown horse, at least the ghost in pac-man didn't put down any more pellets that you had to go back and eat to finish a level.

Maybe it's me but Lily Allen in Escape Fear reminds me a bit of the SNES Adams Family game (based on the movie)

In Lily Allen Escape Fear you play Lily Allen who is stock in a platform game or something that's tied into the music industry anyways you have to get to the exit of each level avoid things like the panda bears and spikes and collect letters that spell out Lily (though it looks like they actually spell Li1y

while you play the level is being flooded with black liquid that has hands reaching out to grab you if you get grabbed and pulled under you have to start over.

the levels get harder as you go on.

I like this game, it's an old school platformer. the levels are short but hey it's a free game and the quickness may actually be part of the charm.

The music is cool, actually it's Lilly Allen's song Fear played over and over again as you play (first with vocals and then the instrumental)

as the name says you are running and can go on roofs and stuff. in the game you are trying to beat the clock and make it to check points as you run and collect coins (sponsors)

It's a nicely done game but honestly it didn't catch my attention for long.

St, Patrick's Day PolyGone

In this St. Patrick day puzzle game you have to fix a some pictures. Each picture is slightly warped by four leaf clovers. you have to fix the picture by clicking on clicking the messed up area.

Now this game is and isn't about finding clovers. at least you don't look for actual clovers, it's more like someone took a picture and cut out four leaf clovers and then plopped the clovers back onto the picture around the same spot.

I know it doesn't really make since but I'm not try how to explain it.

The puzzles are actually challenging in this game. some of the clover spots are easy to find but there are those that can be tricky to tell.

it's not a bad game if you just want something to play for a few minutes.

It's funny even thought Mafia Wars has been a big hit on facebook (as well as myspace, iphone and other platforms) for a long time I only started playing about a month ago.

It's not that I didn't know about the game, I kept getting friends updates on facebook telling me that they have leveled up or giving away stashes. In fact I think that was why I stayed away from the game, I was annoyed with all those updates and didn't want to be like those players. But I decided to give the game a try and now I see why I kept getting so many updates from people. The game is fun and you may easily find yourself playing the game a few times a day.

So what is Mafia Wars, its simple broswer based mmmorpg where you play a mobster trying to work up the ranks of the mobs family.

You start the game picking one of 3 character classes. Mogul which means you earn 5% more money per job, Maniac which means you recharge energy faster which allows you to do more jobs, and Fearless which means you recharge stamina faster, which you can do more fights.

The game is simple. Mafia Wars is pretty much a RPG you do things to gain points and when you reach set numbers you level up. At each level you gain points that you can use to up your stats (strength, defense, health, stamina, energy) and you can do different things when you reach certain levels.

you can do jobs to earn money and experience points. You can also do things like get into fights with other players (depending if you win or lose you can gain more points and money or lose some cash and experience points)

You can also buy items that can help you in fights as well as jobs.

The game also always you to buy properties once bought you can collect money from them.

The game also makes changes from time to time to keep game play interesting for older players, for example the game recently changed the properties and how that system is done. The game also ads new areas like Cuba and Bangkok and soon Los Vegas, that players can go to when they reach certain levels.

Here are some Mafia War tips for beginners (or you can look at this as a things I wish I knew when I started playing)

When you are starting out it maybe better to focus your upgrade points on energy more then your other stats. You don't really get attacked that much when when you are at lower levels (I think you are get put out in the open when you reach level 18 or so)

And you really don't need to worry about upgrading your health. You can heal yourself (it cost money) and truth be told not much actually happens when you die besides your profile states the number of times you have been killed.

The smartest thing to spend your reward points maybe be more people in your game (unless you know a lot of people and can get the max 500 members with real people)

For properties it smartest to get a pawn shop and keep on upgrading it until you can buy a casino. Those are the two things that give you the most money (well they are the most likely that you will be able to collect the most since the set up of other business makes it likely that you will miss some payment during the day)

boost packs are great not only do they increase your 25% more experience, it's 25% of your maximum experience and when you use it they fill your experience up to the new max.

The story for the game Puki is pretty much the story from the movie Gremlins but with out Gizmo. You bought a cute pet but it has turned evil changes and is reproducing fast.

Now you have to take out these little greml...er Pukis out. But unlike the film that I am sure inspired the game you aren't some unarmed kid, no you did what Billy should have done grab a gun and start shooting.

That's right folks this game is a first person shooter where you kill cute but deadly creators.

The game play isn't bad. When I was reading the controls to play the game I thought they seemed odd but in game they actually work pretty well.

Alice is Dead is a point and click adventure/puzzle game that is based on Lewis Carroll Alice books.

You play the White Rabbit and it seems you have been thrown in jail for the murder of Alice. The thing is you are suffering from amnesia. So you don't know if you did it or not. You need to get to the bottom of this, you have to find out what happened, and hopeful prove that you aren't the murder. But to that you need to get out of your cell because if you stay to long surly it's off with your head.

The game is dark and isn't for little kids.

I liked the game, the puzzles where challenging. My only problem is that the game is to short but I since the game is being broken up in episodes I'm happy that I have something to look forward too.

Ah the internet you allow us to get information at lighting speeds, contact with like minded people and other great things.

The net also gives many things that make us say WTF? and this game is one of them.

do you remember the nutjob that blow up the IRS building in Austin Texas last week?
Well in this game you get to play Joseph Stack and recreate his act of terrorism.

And I want to be clear what that guy did was terrorism and Joseph Stack was a terrorist. I've notice a number of sources saying that he wasn't. It doesn't matter that he acted alone and not in a group or because he's American. Killing innocent people because you think that you will scare people into action is terrorism.

Now back to the game...

This is a very short game. first you burn down your house and the you jump into your plane and head toward the IRS building (along the way you can get a bonus for hitting a car)

The controls in the game are simple all you use is your mouse. Point in the direction you want to go and hit left click to do actions.

The visual style of the game is done in a retro look, like something done for the Commodore 64.

Topic aside it's not really a bad game in regards to game play, it's really short so you wont get board with the mechanics of the game. Though truth be told the appeal of the game is mostly because the ideal of it is so F'ed up.

Fred Jones in adventure land

Fred Jones in Adventure land is basically a home-made clone of the first Super Mario game.

You play Fred Jones who is whisked a way into adventure land a land mad out of bricks that has giant walking mushrooms that are your foe.

like Mario you jump on enemies to kill them. But Fred Jones has more ups then Mario when he jumps he almost floats in the like Doctor Jay going to the rim.

The game may not be as fun as the game it's copying but it's still a fun way to pass the time time.

the look of the game mixes three elements Fred Jones and his enemies look like they where drawn by hand (so to speak maybe done in ms paint or something) the foreground looks like well Super Mario and the background looks like they took a painting.

and there is a version of the game that can be played on the iPhone/iPad/iPod touch that you can also play

Tiger Woods wife outrun

Tiger Woods may have said he is sorry but it seems his wife is still a bit upset.

In this game you play Tiger Woods as he tries to drive away from his wife who is trying to beat him with a golf club. Look out for items in the road because they slow you down.

This game is simple to play and I had fun. Though I admit this is not at all a deep game, and will only give you a few minutes of pleasure...kind of like a quickie with a mistress.

Neptune's Pride

Neptune's Pride is a Sci-Fi based strategy game where you are trying to build an empire of star systems.

You take over planets by sending fleets of spaceships to a new star system. Once you have a star you can allocate your income to doing things like building it economy (this will will increase the money you earn every day,) increase industry (increase the number of spaceships made) or pay for scientist in the area (scientist help you make technological brake troughs faster)

The technology that your scientist can work on are weapons, scanning (so you can get better readings on stars) range (so your ships can fly further out) and speed (so your ships can go faster)

You play this game against real people.

If you try to take over a star system that is already claimed by someone not only do you have to deal with the automatic battle system (which takes into account players weapon strength and the number of ships they have at that star) but you may now have some person blotting your down fall.

Bur you maybe able to offer to team up with people and trade skills.

This is not a quick game to play you will need to play this game for a few days maybe even longer. Not only do you need 90 stars to win the game but the game is set up to be played over time. You have to wait every day to get more money and most of the things you need to do (pretty much every thing besides sending fleets out and what you want you scientist to study) cost money.

The game is free to play but you need a sign in with your google account to play.

There are also versions of the game that you can only play if you have credits (which you can either buy or win by being in the top 3 of your game)

The president has been kidnapped...is it time for a President Rescue???

In the game President Rescue the President of the United States has been kidnapped and you are part of the elite force that most save him.

The game is a basic shooting game you control a helicopter and most take out enemies before they attack you.

The game is a bit of a challenge given that unlike most games that give you a health bar and allow you to take multiple hits before you die, in this game if one of the enemies hits your helicopter you are going down.

The game starts of with a picture of Obama looking like Rambo (Ramobama? Obambo?) which is cute but it's a little bit disturbing that if you die in the game they show a picture of the guy getting shoot.

Other then that I think the game is alright. Didn't hook me enough to play the game for long but it wasn't a bad game.

I just hope this years games turns out to be better then this flash game.

This is the official flash game for the Vancouver Olympics 2010

You can play 3 sports in this game (well four really but the forth one wasn't up when I played) they are Ski Jumping, Giant Slalom and Snowboarding cross (and Short Track Speed Skating but as noted that was on when I started to play maybe they will have it up when the games officially start)

I think the snowboarding and giant slalom games where on the lower ends of OK where the ski jump game was horrible. they want you to move the cursor low to the ground yet the cursor hardly moves down when you move your mouse.

well if you have Olympic fever this will surely cool it down. Hey maybe that's the plan the Olympic staff was so worried that the body heat of people with Olympic fever would be so great that it would melt what little snow they have in Vancouver so they pulled out this game to cool people down and prevent the lose of snow, eh.

Death Vs Monsters

Death Vs Monsters is a very cute shooting game. You play death (a flying skull) who is being attacked by monsters.

The controls took me a minute to get used to, it's not that they are hard, you pretty much just move with you mouse and you shoot automatically (there are a few extra moves but that's mainly it). It's more due to the fact I'm used to shooting games where you shoot what is in front of you this game your guns seem to trail you you.

as you shoot down your enemies the monsters they drop coins, diamonds and other loot. collect them because after each level (win or lose) you get the chance to buy upgrades (for things such as better weapons or health)

a nice thing about this game is that it saves your game. so if you leave and come back on the same computer you will still be at where you where when you logged off.

And the game is fun so odds are you will be coming back for more.

For those who can't wait for the big game here is the Nintendo classic Tecmo Super Bowl game.

Released almost 20 years ago this game before EA sports took over every sporting game in the market. Tecmo Super Bowl is a game that has left's it's mark on the history of gaming and you can play it online.

Not in 100% of it's glory because the sound is a bit choppy (at least the Java version I played.) Which is a shame because I hadn't realized how good the intro music is in it's 8-bit chipper beat.

Aha is a puzzle game where you are trying to clear the screen of circles. you can clear the balls away by clicking or touching (if you are playing on the iPhone or iPad) balls that are connected to each other. click 2 or more balls that are touching each other and they go away.

I'll be honest there really isn't much depth to this game, even when comparing to the zillion games that are similar. The reason is that the puzzle isn't that challenging (most games like this you have to have a least 3 balls connecting having only 2 seems to easy)

I think the game is good enough for a quick minute or two of game play though, which is a good thing since this game is made for the iPhone. so if are stuck somewhere bored (maybe you are in line or something) and looking for something to pass a minute by this is a good game longer then a minute maybe look for something else.

The Chick ARG is an alt reality game tied into a web series about a woman who wants to be a Super Heroine that can be watched at whoischick.com

The game start page starts off with a bit of an open curtain since they let you know it's a game right form the start. But that aside it's nice that they tell you what has happened in the story so far for those of us just getting into the game.

The game so far seems centered around the character Kaitlyn Yi who works at a comic book company called 1089 comics and who runs a personal blog called Punk the Dress

Punk the dress has a lot of content dating back as far 2007.

1089 comics site is running a weekly webcomic following the comic book character Misteria, who in the ARG story for the game is a long established character that has recently became a cultural icon.

I know I'm far form the target demo graphic for this game but I find it very unlikely that anyone would actually enjoy this game.

In the game Keep Kissing you play a girl skiing next to her boyfriend and the object oft he game is to kiss him as much as possible.

the problem with the game is that there really isn't much game. all you do is keep pushing the click button on your mouse and you kiss. there are no challenge in the game except for the fact that ever so often you miss a chance to kiss and you loose a heart.

Street Fighter 2010

Street Fighter 2010 is the sequel to the Nintendo game Street Fighter. unlike other games in the Street Fighter game this isn't a one on one fighting game but a side-scrolling platformer. In fact I would say it is trying to be a bit more like Metrod then a fighting game.

In the game you play a cyborg version of Ken.

I can see why this game has been mostly forgotten as I wasn't much into the game play but it's always interesting to see how people thought things would turn out by now.

Do you run for safety...now this odd animal has the power to transform it self through a series of clicking the right spots on it's self. If you can figure out the right parts to click and at the right times you will be able to transform into something that would make it so the lion doesn't even notice you.

the game times how long you take to solve the puzzle, so you can see how long it takes you to solve the puzzle. when you solve it the game will give you a ranking.

I think this is a nice game, though it's not the best game I've played from eyezmaze but still fun for a few minutes of game play.

Snow Bros

Snow Bros was one of my favorite arcade games growing up as a kid. When I found an online version of the game I was happy to find that the game is pretty much as fun as I remembered it being.

for those who don't know in Snow Bros you play one of two Snowmen who attack by covering their enemies with snow when they have them covered enough to make a big snow ball they push them away. If you hit other enemies with your snow balls (boulders) you get extra points and items.

the only thing different I see in this version of the game is that it's only one player sorry no co-op mode. (Edit to add that it seems I am wrong there is a two player mode when they ask for credits just hit the shift key twice and another person can play)

In this game you shoot shoot Santa and his sleigh out of a cannon to see how far he can go.

It's odd but it seems old Saint Nick and the Misses have some short of contest to see who be shot out the furthest. It's an odd relationship but who am I to judge.

you gain money for each shot you go and at the end of a round you can buy up grades that will help you in the game.

I had fun playing the game (even though there are lot of games out there just like it) thought I found it short (I could have played for another round or two). which maybe a smart thing because there isn't really much depth to the game.

Snow Ball Breakout

Well today is the official first day of Winter and because Christmas is Friday I thought it was time I reviewed some games that are not only Wintery but also Christmas related

Here is Snow Ball Breakout. It the classic breakout game but with a Christmas twist, instead of moving a paddle trying to catch a ball and breaking breaks you move Santa Claws who is holding a board to catch a ball and having it bounce up hoping to hit blocks..er I mean wrapped up gift boxes.

The reason Santa is trying to break the boxes is that it seems evil Imps have stolen the present Santa was going to give to all the good boys and girls and hid them Santa most break the boxes to find the presents.

I found the game to be fun, it's breakout if you aren't a fan of that game then you wouldn't really like this one.

The game of course those have much better graphics then the original breakout

Astro Boy: One bad Storm

In this game you play Astro Boy flying in space in a meteoroid storm. In the game you have to punch and kick the flying rocks coming at you.

The game is simple and fun. thought the dark gray meteors can be a bit hard to see in the blackness of space.

I think this is an OK game for a few minutes of play...though I maybe bias since I liked Astroboy I was a kid.

in Return to Pearl Harbor you play people on a little boat trying to gun down planes.

besides shooting down planes you can also try to see if you can jump of waves high. the game marks your highest jumps so you can see if you can break.

like ww2 the game isn't much fun.

another boring Pearl Harbor game is Pearl Harbor Attack but in this game you are flying a plane that is bombing boats.

Why you may ask am I giving you 2 bad Pearl Harbor games...well because today is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. Why are both games bad? well that was just random, I looked for a Pearl Harbor related game and the first one I played was boring so I tried another one and it was just as bad instead of trying my luck for a 3rd time I just put reviews of these bombs on the site. sorry if you played them

Tasha's Game

In this platform game from the folks at Double Fine you play Tasha (a young woman who happens to be the creator behind the game and game developer and animator at Double fine) and her flying cat wearing a wizard's cap Snoopy.

You have to rescue friends and family members who have been captured by tentacles (don't worry this isn't a hentai game.) Save one person and then you find out someone else has been kidnapped.

As you run about each level you will find little boxes that Snoopy must collect and allows him to put down platforms for you to use in the game. There are different types of platforms that Snoopy may pick up and each does something different and you will need the platforms to reach areas of the game. Don't worry when you start out the game tells you which platforms are need but as you go further into the game you have to figure that out for yourself.

I think this is a very fun game. Once I started playing I couldn't stop until I beated the game. and let me tell you the last level is really hard at least it much harder then the rest of the game. I don't want to talk to much about it because there is a twist ending to the game.

In this flash game you play the last Spartan who alone most fight an army of his enemies.

This game is a basic side-scrolling beat-em up, like Double Dragon or streets of rage but instead of punching and kicking people you stab them with your spear and hit with a shield.

I thought the game was somewhat ok, nothing great but it held my attention for a short period of time.

I do like the look of the game. the characters look like they where hand drawn, not well done mind you but with the simple back ground with it's black and orange hues the games has a unique look.

Clever Frog

Well this frog is at least smarter then the frog in frogger since it knows not to play in traffic.

in the puzzle game Clever Frog you play a frog that needs to clear the board by jumping from pad to pad. after you jump of a pad it sinks.

the frog is smart but for some reason can't jump backwards or diagonal

The game offers a nice challenge right of the back and trying to solve the each level gets a little harder.

Turkey Shoot

Turkey Shoot is a first person shooter where you are a farmer being attacked by hopping made Turkeys. I guess they know Thanksgiving is around the corner and they wont let you take them alive.

The Turkey's come at you hoping up and down which makes them a bit hard to aim at but you may want to take them out as soon as you can because once they stop hopping they pull out guns and start shooting at you.

when you fill the birds with hot lead they turn into cooked Turkey dinner. shot them again to get extra points.

As you play longer the turkey get a little smarter and start doing things like wear a metal plate to act like a Kevlar vest. you have to shot them a few times to make them drop their bullet proof vest.

The games ok. it fun enough for a few minutes of game play but not really much more.

Today is election day in many places in the U.S so I thought I would review an election related game

verkiezingsstrid is pretty much wack-o-mole but you are trowing food at German politicians.

Like a wake a mole the politicians pop up faster and faster as the game goes on. If you miss one you get an X get to many Xs and it's game over.

Even though the game is dealing with German politicians that everyone around the world might not know I figure hey the dislike of politicians is universal and you may have someone running locally that looks like one of these guys.

Boxhead: Halloween

about 2 years ago I reviewed a sequel to this game and for Halloween I decide to review the game that start it off. Box Head Halloween.

In this game you are trying to lead a group of survivors to safety in a town over run with zombies before it's to late (IE this is a timed game so you have to get out before the timer runs out)

the city is a bit of a maze but you have a radar that will point you to the exit. The radar also shows you where the people are (living and dead) in the first round you start with all the living people already following you but once you save them you have a new bunch of people that you have to find throughout the town.

The games graphics aren't as good as the sequels but I find the aspect of having to find people and look out for there safety to be a challenge to the game. That and learning not to shoot someone as soon as I see them thinking they are a zombie.

Static Shock: Microbot menece

In this flash game based on the cartoon Static Shock (which was in turn based on the comic book series Static) you play the hero Static (teenager Virgil Hawkins) who must collect circuit boards to stop the onslaught of robots called Microbots that have taken over the city of Dakota.

The game is fun.

I like the music (it's in a hip-hop style similar to the music that was on the show) though I would have liked a volume control...even though I liked the music in the game...I would have liked listing to it at a lower volume.

The flash game Robin the archer in pixeland you play guy named Robin (not sure if he's that famous archer from loxley that hangs out with a bunch of merry men) who in a world that looks like it's make out some of the back ground bits from Super Mario world.

in the game you shoot your enemies with arrows and collect coins (so you can buy upgrades between levels)

I have to say this game sucks.

I didn't like the control set-up, it partly my bias (I never really liked games where you had to move your character with the letters on the keyboard)

I also didn't like the music

and worst I didn't find this to be much of a fun game.

now to say something nice I have to say I think the look of the game is ok.

the fact that the background looks like it's from Super Mario is odd giving that the background looks like it maybe from a 16 bit game, yet the characters look like they step out of an 8-bit game is a interesting mix.

The Tickler

in the game The Tickler you play rampaging robot on a killing spree.

in the game you most kill all the people trying to take you down (as well as all the things they send to stop you) wipe everything out and you move on to the next level (23 in all)

Your robot can earn money from killing people (I guess he steals their wallets as it crushes them) you can use the money to upgrade your robot either when you pass a level or get killed and as you move up in the game you are going to need to take on some upgrades.

I really enjoyed playing this game

My favorite level is the space invader level.

Columbus Pirate

In the flash game Columbus Pirate you play a guy (who I guess is Christopher Columbus as a pirate) who seems to be stranded in the ocean with 3 other pirates that want you to walk the plank so to speech (there's no plank in the game but the want you dead just the same)

the game is simple and short.

you use the space bar to attack with your sword and you can use the left click button on your mouse to jump from either the barrels that are floating in the water or on to a defeated pirates rafts.

Vector Conflict: The Siege

Vector Conflict: the Siege is a pretty good shooting game.

It's a Vector base flash game, as the title hints.

in the game you are a gunner trying to protect a mining base from attack.

You don't fly around in this game, instead you are located in one spot and can only spin around.

Enemies will attack you from all sides, but luckily you have radar system to see them (or most of them) coming at you even if you are looking in that direction yet.

one nice thing about this game is that it allows you to set the difficulty level, it ranges form causal gamer to hardcore. But even on easy the game can get pretty intense.

and if you are just starting you can play with or tutorial or just jump in without it. The nice thing about the tutorial mode is that it's actually a game, instead of a series of directions for you to do to learn to play the game. Instead the start each level starts with telling you new things you can do and introduces you to new enemies.

Farmville

FarmVille is a farming game for facebook.

In the game you buy seeds to plant and harvest food them for profit. Different crops cost different amount of coins and take different lengths of time to grow, but well also give you different amount of experiences points for planting them. Not only does the game have wide arrange of crops you can use for free (though a lot of them you have to reach certain levels to be able to plant) there are few that you can pay actual money to use and the profits will go to a number of charities.

Besides playing in your own farm you can build a farm neighborhood with your facebook friends. You can also earn more points by helping them out with a number of task at their farms, such as weeding or killing of moles. You can also send and receive gifts from each other.

The game offer awards ribbons for you doing different things in the game.

All in all I find this game to be enjoyable. It doesn't offer a lot to do in one go, though it's the type of thing you play over time. plant a crop one day harvest in a day or so(or a few hours depending on the crop you are planting.) It a fun way to spend a few minutes a day or so.

The real draw to the game is the fact that you can help raise money The Nature Conservancy, they say the money from ads will go to that group. also by sending 10 of your friends a plant, a mix of cute plant/fruit/veggie characters and drawings of realistic looking plants you can save 1 square foot of rain forest.

Monopoly City Streets is an online version of the game of Monopoly where you can buy actual streets (via google maps)

The game starts you off with 3 million monopoly bucks that you can use to start buying streets and putting building on it them.

The game a bit different form the board game. You have no pieces to move, and so you don't have people landing on your property that will pay you. Instead the way you make money in this game is that you get rent from the buildings you put up everyday you log into the game.

The game taxes people who have more then five streets.

playing online makes the game a bit more of a solo effort but the game has a leader board that allows you to check how others are doing in the game. you can check on your friends (just enter there username) as well as players both locally and globally.

Nexus War's last hoorah

Nexus war a game I reviewed twice, the first time when it came out 2 years ago and the second when they had a major update to the game last year called Starlight

Well the game is coming to an end because it cost to much money for the guy running it. But before he ends the game he has decided to make it's closing month (September) something special.

A side will win this war and the game is changing to reflect which of the elder powers is winning.

Some of the planes (Niflehiem, the Warrens, and the Nimbus) will be closing and more will close as the game winds down. but there will be new areas of Purgatorio popping up.

all the shrines will be moves to the isle of gates.

Action Points (AP) Experience Points (XP) and Magic Points (MP) will be earned faster

But the real draw for people that stop playing maybe the fact that idle characters have been awarded 400 extra AP.

and there maybe even more goodies.

It's kind of sad that the game is closing (but I have to admit I haven't really played it in while) but I did find the game fun when I did play and I guess this is the time to play the game since it wont be around for long.

the financial site Investopedia has a number of stock simulator games. Actually they are basically the same game with a few small differences.

the basics of their games is investing in the stock market. The games give you a certain amount of money to start with and you use that money to buy and sell stocks.

The investopedia games actually use real information about the stock market(just a little bit off real time) and if you can only buy or sell stocks during the period that stock market in wall street is open (though you can set your order earlier and the transaction will only take place when the opening bell rings)

a nice feature is that you can make your own game. Where you can set things like how much money you start off with, how much you charge for stock transactions, and a number of other factors.

this game isn't really that fun. But it's interesting if you ever thought about playing the stock market and it's a great educationally tool.

The Free Rice game is basically a quiz game where you need to select the meaning of words the game gives you.

for each answer you get right 10 grains of rice well be donated to the UN food program.

bowls get full when they reach 100 grains of rice and you start a new bowl.

if you answer so many question right you also move up a level, but if you get a question wrong you move down a level. there are 60 levels in all and each one the words get harder and harder.

I think the fact that you can feed hungry people while playing this game is what keeps one playing. I know I didn't want to stop until I fill up a bowl and then I ended starting a new one and didn't want to stop until I filled that one up, etc.

in the flash game Cube Colossus: Cube project 1 you are the pilot of a spaceship trying to find your mission twin sister. the story reveals as you play the game

in the game you have to shoot enemies ships that are well cubes.

the game is throw back to old school shooting games such as R-type.

The controls take some getting use to, you move and shoot with your mouse, and target ships with either the keys on the computer or a,w,s,s keys. once you get the hang of it the game isn't too bad and can be a bit habit forming (when I first started I was going to write the game off but I soon was playing the game for over an hour)

in the game you have a shield meter that goes down for everything you are hit, when it goes out you are defeated.

their is also a weapons meter that goes down as you fire your weapon for a long time, if it goes out your weapons will over heat and you will need to wait for the bar to start going back up.

For each level you play you can earn gold, which you can use to upgrade your ship.

in this flash game (that is out to help promote the 6th book in the Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy trilogy) you play a Vogon training program where you have to destroy earth (s)

the game is rather funny with some of the things you have to do. for example if you crash your ship you have to fill out paper work (push a random of series of buttons)

now if it was just stuff like this the game wouldn't be much fun but the actual game is a blast. it a shooting game with a cross of the game snake (you collect missiles and they trail behind you and don't want to touch them or you will blow up)

the only thing you need to shoot is the number of earth's you are told to, don't shoot other objects or it's more paper work. don't crash into things (with out a shield) because it's more paper work.

Upgrade complete is a a shooting game that makes fun of the fact that so many games are about you upgrading you spaceship.

you can darn near upgrade everything in this game, and if you can't upgrade it in the game they make a joke about you being able to (like the game's graphics)

in fact when you start to play the game you need to buy things to upgrade you into being able to play the game.

The game is actually pretty fun, it has an Atari throw back feel due the games look.

in the game you shot enemy ships, when the ship is destroyed a coin will drop, collect coins to have money to buy upgrades, such as more and better weapons.

their are 20 level...er stage upgrades for you to go through the higher you go the more enemies you have to shoot down.

the game is pretty easy since the enemies don't shot back, and if you lose a level you well just play it again (and get to keep the money you collected) but I think the easiness of the game works. those who are hard core gamers can play for the joke but those who aren't can just play to fun old school shooter game

The game Super Star Balls is one of those games where you have to match 3 or more object (in this case you match balls with stars on them with balls of the same color) to get rid of them, and as you play the stack of balls raises (and it's game over if they reach the top)

a nice twist to this game is that you can play against other person online. You can either get a friend to play with you or play against people around the world.

there is some problems with playing against people online. You may have a bit of lag time or there may note be anyone out there to play against when you want to play.

If faced with the later, there is no need to worry because the game as a single player practices mode that is still pretty fun to play

in this game you simulate releasing fireworks. you can change a number of factors such as fuel, colors, bursting charges as well as wind and gravity.

each change helps produce a difference in your fire works when they go off (or changes when they off)

the fun part of the game is after you set every thing you can set of the fireworks and look how your changes makes things look.

didn't like your fire work display then go and teak things around until you are ooohing and aahhhing at your monitor.

In the game Budget Hero you are trying to do what it seems no Congress person or president has seemed to be able to do balance the budget.

in the game you start by selecting at 3 badges that reflect things you would like to do (for example you want America to be more green or have an even stronger defense you can pick badges to reflect your ideology.) The badges fill when you do things that reflect those badges.

in the game you click on areas of spending and choice cards that reflect spending or spending cuts on programs (or taxes)

when you made all the changes you want you can then see how your budget would do compared to the real budget. You did a good job if your budget reduces the debt, pushes the expected bust date after 2032 (the further out the better) and you did a really good job if you can fill all your badges will doing all this.

You can also compare how you did against others in the game (will how you did against an average of people that fit in different categories)

the my brute game (and the term game is used loosely) you make a character and have them fight with other characters people have made online.

now you don't actually control any of the fighting, you just watch and see which character the site choices to win the battle.

in each of these fights you can experience points and can earn new weapons to fight with.

today Tetris turns 25 years old.

that's right the game where you stack blocky shapes as been around a quarter of a century. hard to believe.

This game maybe on of the most popular exports from Russia since those little dolls that had a smaller doll in it that had a smaller doll in it that had a smaller doll in it that had...oh you get the point.

when the came first came to America it was a big success. in fact some believe that one of the reason's nintendo's gameboy sold so much was because people wanted it just to play tetris.

This is a flash game based on the game Half Life's Portal mode.

Like the game this is based on you are have to solve a number of puzzle that use a gun that you have to can shoot portals that you can travel through.

unlike the X-Box 360 game this isn't first person game, nor are the graphics any where as good as the real game. actually this game is short of like a version of the game if it came out for the NES (which is really a bad thing in my book)

like Half Life's portal you have to make it through a number of rooms each more harder to figure away out.

In this Japanese flash game you are are a guy standing down wind of a person that is taking a dump. you are trying to move out way of this person's feces, at the same time you are trying to shot up what looks like a finger and hit the person right in the middle of there butt.

sounds a bit sick I know butt if you can stomach it this isn't a bad game (or should I say it's not complete crap)

Star Trek: Flash Trek v2.0

This fan made Star Trek game plot is tied into the a story line that came out of events that happened in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (some fans didn't like this series but personally I think this is the best version of Star Trek since the original)

in the game you are one of the last human not enslaved by the evil co-collation of aliens called the Dominion and you join the Federation (Star Fleet) and their war time allies the Klingons and the Romulans (yes the villains in the new Trek movies)

In the game you help other people by shipping cargo to place to place and fighting the Dominion.

to be honest the game starts of pretty slow and you can spend time going around space with nothing to do for while.

but if you don't get bored right of the back there are things to do in this game.

a hint to make sure you don't float around aimlessly on the screen there are differnt colored dots, head in those directions to run into other ships that you either can help or they can help you with repairs or they may lead you to enemy ships for you to fight.

This game is sick

actually the point of this flash game is to make other people sick.

in the easiest level you simply click on people and truck drives to give them the flu. you can then click on the place that they are going (where they live, work or go to school) and spread their infection to others.

in this level you need to infect 25% of the population to win.

Re-assortment is the next highest level in difficulty. this version of the game you don't just get to click on random people to infect but a must find a selected character, click to where he needs to go and let him start infecting others.

once other people are infected you spread the disease by clicking that characters selected place. as you play the stronger this version of the flu gets.

in this level you need to infect half the population to win.

and finally the hardest level in the game is H5 N1 better know as the bird flu. it's actually pretty close to re-assortment flu but with a bigger world map (and population) so it's hard to reach that 50% mark.

before each game you are giving a little information about the flu and how to play that game.

I did find a glitch as I played the H5 N1 version of the game. after you are told what to do they ask you to select alive. there's a little animation about the spread of bird flu and then that it you won (at least that part) but it doesn't allow you to get on to the real game.

Ok there is no Swine flu version of this game (at least not yet) but other then that I actually found the game to be fun (seasonal flu more the other versions of the game)

the music is somewhat hold school video game tunes, but one of the loading menus did play a nice smooth jazz/R&B type song, that was nice. to bad I didn't hear more music like that.

Linyca is a simple puzzle game where you are trying to get rid of blocks

on like most other games of this type you don't have to wait for similar blocks to be grouped together to get rid of them all you have to do is click on a block and all similar blocks in that row will disappear. But if you click a block that doesn't have at least one matching block in that row you loose some points

there are also 3 types of combos you can get in the game that score you more points.

some for every time you get rid of 5 rows of the same color back to back (you can get this for every color)

combo points for getting rid of half a row (ie half a row is the same color)

or getting rid of a full row (every thing was the same color)

to beat a level you only have to get rid of all blocks above the dark blue area, but you only get to move on to the next level once you get rid of all the blocks that you can in that stage.

The game doesn't start of with much a challenge (and if you do some thinking before you start clicking it unlikely you will run into much challenge). unless you are trying to get the combo points and then you have to figure out ways to make them possible to get

but the game does have its appeal and it also has nice music and sound effects. for example when you get rid of some blocks there is a nice calm ding sound and when you are done with a level you get music played.

one shouldn't right this game off, I have found myself playing it much longer then I thought I would. there is something about the game that will just keep you clicking

not only is this a flash game but it can also be played on the PS3 and Xbox 360

the game fire dragon you play a cute dragon and blocks of ice with fruit are falling at you.

you can shoot the ice blocks with your fire breath and melt them away (which allows you to get to the fruit)

if you miss a block of ice the stone platform you are on will raise up (making the game harder because it gives the blocks less space to fall)

some blocks have a blue ball in them that when eating destroy all the ice blocks on screen

This is a fun, quick game.

in honor of Administrative Professionals day we give you the game Work Day.

where you play a secretary. you must click on the things that most get done or you will be fired.

the trick to the game is find out the things you need to do to keep you boss happy, thought I am not sure if there is a way to bet the game (just ways to play longer)

you point and click on the thing you need to do such as answer phones, give people coffee or faxes.

this is a fine game to blow off a second or two but the important lesson in the game is that being a secretary is hard work.

when looking at flash game it is pretty common to see games that where quickly made and don't have much dept to them

luckily Scarygirl isn't one of those types of games. the people (artist Nathan Jurevicuius and a team of others) behind the game really took their time with with it (9 years) and it shows from the beginning as the game starts of with a quick cartoon opening, that hints at the plot and tone of the game (cute but with a hint of spooky creepiness)

You play Scarygirl, a (maybe dead) pirate girl with a tentacle for one arm and a bone for her other hand, who is haunted by the image of a man's face in her dreams. Scarygirl wants to know who this man is and does he have anything to do with her mysterious past. Scarygirl goes of looking for answers, her first stop are her wise guardians (a rabbit and a octopus) who give you clues and set you off to go father.

The games a pretty average platform game. as you go on your adventure you collect jewels for points and also fish that when eating can heal you a little bit. like the sonic games if you get hit by an enemy you drop the fish that where on you and you have to go and pick them up (but since you are know injured you know eat them)

along the way you meet a number of new friends to help you along the way.

on the site there are also pictures of scarygirl toys the creator has made

Sheep Jumper is a simple game where you are a dog jumping over sheep (actually the animals you hop over look more like rams them sheep)

the closer you are to the sheep/ram before you jump over it the more points you pick up.

and the longer you play the faster the ramming sheep come.

I like the game. it's simple game play and the music is nice and relaxing (it has a country feel)

even though I like the game I will admit there isn't much to keep you playing for a long time. So this is just another flash game made for those who want to wast a minute or two of free time.

Mozilla Drop is a online puzzle game for those who are fans of the internet browser firefox.

in the game you try to get rid of items by clicking on an item that is connected to one or more items that are the same.

this is a very quick game because it only has one level, so you will be able to beat it in a few seconds. which is good because really there isn't much in this game to keep you interest any longer (heck you may find your self getting bored before you clear the board)

it should be noted the term puzzle game is used loosely because there really isn't much thinking needed in the game

This a web game that ties into the tv show The Office (the American version) you can play as Dwight or Andy as the two characters fight for the love of Angela.

This game is based on events that happened on the show and use some of the same jokes as they fight.

you may laugh at a joke or two in this game (ok just one) but there really isn't enough game play to keep you wanting to play this game more then half a minute. your characters "fight" by having you click and choice the attack or defense and then you try to click at the right time to get a moving arrow to point to the center of a bar.

The fact that that is your only control of the fighters in this game isn't what turned me off this game. it was the music, which was a really bad western tune. the sad thing is that when you turn of the sound you don't only turn off the music but the sound fx and what the characters say (which means you miss one of the game's jokes)

The Great AIG tomato toss

in this game you throw tomatoes at the AIG (now AIU) building.

even if you are like a lot of people and are upset with how things are being handled at and with AIG, this game doesn't really hold much play value. all you do in the game is throw tomatoes at a villain, their are no enemies to attack you or challenges to complete. if that was enough, after you throw so many tomatoes your game is interrupted when a little factoid about AIG pops up temporally halting game play

Dosser Game is an English version of a very popular online browser based mmorpg. Some say this may actually be the most popular online game in the world and for good reason it fun and addicting to play.

in the game you are a homeless person (giving the economic times that may not be to far form the truth for most of us) and you're trying to move from having nothing to being rich (again something I think most of us can relate too)

To get there you pretty much have to do what ever you can to make money and to better your self (to help you make or keep more money). You can get into fights with other bums and take their money, you can panhandle, collect and sell junk or play music as well as a number of other things to raise money.

also you can use your money to pay for different course of education, so you can become more skilled at different task and areas.

The format of this game makes easy to play this game while you are doing other things. The way the game works is that you click on a task and unless it's buying an object, it will take a set amount of time to do it. For example if you want to collect junk for 10 minutes it really will take that amount of time for you to do so, when you click that amount of time a timer will start ticking the the time it will take for you to be done.

This may not sound like the biggest draw but I found that because of this you can play this game all day. set up an action and do other things and then come back later to check to see how it turned out.

But what makes this game great is the fact that the makers of it are giving a percentage of the money they make form the ad revenue form this game and are giving to a charity that helps homeless people in Germany.

If you can tell I think this is a game you should check out if you haven't already.

a puzzle game for St. Patrick's day.

This is a simple game where you have to click on a group of three or more objects that are the same color to get rid of them before they all reach the top. since this is a St. Patrick theme game you have to click on three leaf clovers.

This game seems to start of a bit harder then most games of this kind, odd giving that the game was on a kids site.

The game really could use some music to go online with it...though I guess you can just play you own songs while you play, the game.

If you like this type of game I am sure you will at least somewhat enjoy this one, if you don't there really isn't much different form this game then the zillions of games like it online.

Leaf Blight

Leaf Blight is a puzzle game where you have to get unhealthy leaves off of trees by clicking on them.

Different color leaves will have different effects on the tree and the leaves around them (or on their branches)

the came has a real calming effect, I think it's the music and the pace of the game.

but even thought the game seems so chill and relaxed it still has a bit of a challenge when you start to go up in the levels and you are timed after a certain point so don't get to relaxed playing this game.

over all I think this is a nice game to play for a bit if you want to unwind
