I like many of you love to play games. And I love things that are free. Here is where I combine my two loves and search the web for some of the best free games. I will brave the trenches of the Internet; bare the time I could have spent at work to tell you about the games I found and what I think about them. So, with no further ado here are the game reviews…

itsagoal.com

The first game we’re going to talk about itsagoal.com.

Itsagoal.com is a soccer (or football for those out side the US) management game. Now I know what many people (in the US) are going to say. “Soccer management game? I ain’t know nothin about no soccer.” To that I have to say don’t worry you really don’t have to know much or anything at all for that matter about soccer to enjoy this game. I sure didn’t know squat about soccer but have nearly become addict to itsagoal.com.

You are in charge of your own soccer club. You can hire and fire clubs employees. You know the coach, the team doctor, the groundskeeper, an assistant, etc. You can also buy and sell players.

It’s up to you to choose the teams playing tactics. Who’s play on the field and who’s sitting on the bench. What formation they use, how aggressive they should be and who should be the appointed kick takers. You’re in control of the skills you’re players train in.

And finally you are in charge of developing the stadium. Choose when you want to expand seating or the parking lot. When to add more toilets or get bigger scoreboard and floodlights.

What makes the game cool is that you trying to out manage real people around the world and itsagoal.com takes advantage of this fact and have built a small community with the game. You can ask or answer questions on their forums, send messages talking smack to the person you’re about to play, and chat.

The game play is basic. You log in (after you sign up of course) and check how things went the previous game and then make changes you want to be used next time your team plays. Then every night (around 10pm eastern time) the game calculates everything up to see pick the winner is for that day’s game.

Since this is an on going game it can take some time investment. Sure you can create a team and only check on them every once in a blue moon. But the game is made for you to come back at least on a normal bases. If you want your team to do well you should check every now and then to make sure your players keep up training (a player that doesn’t train for to long loses
